Telco leader selects Open Text as collaborative platform
Global telco provider Sitel has agreed to use Open Text's Livelink Intranet as the basis for its collaborative knowledge management efforts.
Sitel is a global provider of outsourced telephone and Internet-based customer service. The company has grown rapidly since its 1995 IPO; it now operates in over 70 call centers in 17 countries, covers over 25 languages and dialects and employs over 20,000 people. "Due to our rapid growth, we were faced with businesses that were accustomed to operating independently in physically co-located teams, but now have to work cooperatively across large distances and multiple time zones," said Phil Clough, Sitel president and CEO. "We needed a collaborative knowledge management application to enable our business units and regions to work together as one."
Sitel chose Livelink as the standard collaborative platform that will connect employees across the company's diverse units (and computing environments) using only a Web browser. Using the Livelink platform, Clough expects his employees will "share vital information, work together on projects, and present one corporate face to customers, regardless of geographic location.
