New knowledge platform

The Universal Knowledge Processor (UKP) from Knowledge Processors is a new KM system said to facilitate easy review and retrieval of any type of data (text, images, video, etc) on the basis of a hierarchical organization of topics. The company reports he user directly interacts with the conceptual tree representation of the information base and can select at each stage one or more topics of interest: the system discards irrelevant documents and automatically infers and shows all related topics, which can be used for further refinements.

Plus, says KnowledgeProcessors, at each stage, the user has a complete conceptual summary of the current focus and is effectively guided to reach his or her goal. UKP computes related concepts on the basis of the actual classification, a process claimed to simplify the design of the conceptual schema and perform a concept mining that accounts for unanticipated and dynamic concepts interrelationships. Multilingual access is supported.

The company says the UKP is well-suited to a variety of applications, including e-commerce, e-auctions, topic-based portals, corporate knowledge management, HR, diagnostic systems for call centers and WAP applications.
