More DAM power

Interwoven has announced the latest version of its digital asset management (DAM) product, MediaBin Asset Server 4.0, which has been engineered to help global enterprises increase brand equity and agility while reducing costs.

Built upon Interwoven’s self-described service-oriented architecture, MediaBin 4.0 is the cornerstone of the company's Marketing Content Management Solution, which is targeted at solutions that manage the marketing content supply chain between enterprises and their internal and external sales channels.

Interwoven says MediaBin 4.0 connects multiple servers, both inside and outside of the organization, to help manage all marketing content locally, while providing centralized, global access for employees and business partners. Helping to ensure that brand-related digital content is always properly formatted and up-to-date throughout the marketing content supply chain, MediaBin 4.0 is a key component to fulfill Interwoven's vision of Content Networks, a new approach for managing content within and beyond the enterprise.

Interwoven says the new features of MediaBin Asset Server 4.0 include:

  • a syndication manager, which enables multiple MediaBin servers to share marketing content (creating replicas, renditions or references);

  • Mac OS X support, a new Web services-based application that takes full advantage of Mac OS X Panther’s user interface to speed interaction with MediaBin for users;

  • metadata enhancements for greater speed and flexibility;

  • MetaTagger Content Intelligence Server integration to automatically add "intelligence" to Microsoft Office documents and PDF assets; and

  • an updated interface designed to make the user experience more intuitive and productive.
