BPM boosts awards management

An organization in Ireland that grants and disburses financial aid awards to students will use a business process management (BPM) solution to help support its mission.

The Further Education Training and Awards Council (FETAC) is deploying the Teamworks BPM suite from Lombardi Software as part of a contract with Satyam Computer Services to develop enterprise-class processes to support FETAC's business needs. IT consulting and services provider Satyam will roll out a multitiered solution focused on process management, business intelligence and document management.

FETAC makes about 100,000 awards annually to students completing various education and training programs, and Satyam will initially use Teamworks to coordinate business processes that support management of those awards. The solution will improve process visibility and performance, enhance collaboration and reduce cycle time, Lombardi recently reported. In the future, the system will be used to streamline core certification processes, such as quality assurance and program validation.
