Edocs delivers comprehensive self-service

Siebel Systems has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Edocs, a provider of e-billing and customer self-service software solutions. With the move, Siebel expects to deliver a comprehensive self-service solution. The proposed acquisition will also strengthen Siebel's offerings of multichannel customer-facing solutions, the company says.

Edocs' platform integrates e-billing and payment as well as e-service and advanced self-care technologies that enable companies to move to customer service interactions to self- and assisted-service channels such the Web, e-mail and interactive voice response systems. Its products and services are used by organizations in communications, energy, financial services, government, healthcare and manufacturing/distribution.
