An eRoom with a view

Documentum reports eRoom 7.0 delivers a completely scalable, enterprise-grade collaboration offering with new project and program management capabilities.

In addition to those enhancements, says Documentum, eRoom 7 also includes personalized site access page for single sign-on authentication and accessibility from any workstation, as well as a federated server infrastructure said to deliver low administrative costs, easy site management and customization and extensibility for large installations across many locations. Further, the company says, the offering includes expanded search and site navigation capabilities that extend across team environments and multilevel security through enhanced and native support for third-party security provisions.

New out-of-the-box applications include:

  • compliance--for quickly developing and implementing internal controls to ensure adherence to government, industry or internal regulations;
  • new product development--for collaborating on product creation through release, including R&D, engineering change management and supplier management;
  • finance--for any type of cross-functional activity, both within and outside of an organization, such as proposal development, mergers and acquisitions, company reorganizations, deal and contract negotiations; and
  • project management—for planning, execution and reporting features and integration to third-party tools, and suited for consulting with clients or partners or any type of group tasks.

Later this year, the company will introduce, eRoom Enterprise 7, which will integrate eRoom's collaboration product with the Documentum enterprise content management platform.
