Alfresco has introduced an early-access beta program for Alfresco SMB Edition, which is described as a turnkey, self-managed, ready-to-use, cloud-based appliance designed for Amazon EC2.

The Alfresco SMB Edition will offer a pre-configured Alfresco Cloud appliance that combines the Alfresco server, Alfresco Explorer and Alfresco Share into an easily consumable, on-demand offering aimed at SMBs with up to a maximum of 100 users and 200 GB of document storage.

These appliances are hosted on Amazon EC2 and made available as paid Amazon Machine Images (AMIs). The images are pre-configured with all the necessary software to allow SMBs to benefit from the productivity gains enabled through Alfresco's content-centric collaboration capabilities. The service is made available exclusively through Amazon EC2. Alfresco has partnered with JumpBox, which specializes in building software appliances, to develop Alfresco SMB.
