Rethinking a Web strategy

Ping Identity which delivers secure Internet single sign-on software and services to customers worldwide, has chosen a new Web content management solution, CommonSpot from PaperThin to replace an open source system.

"Considering the size and support of our development team, an open source content management application is very limiting," says Marty Halpin, director of operations at Ping Identity. "CommonSpot solved two primary problems for our marketing team: It facilitated direct editing by marketing content creators, and it provided a deep and rich set of features that would have taken us years to develop. Our previous solution did not provide the reliability or stability we required. CommonSpot has been an excellent choice from that perspective."

The re-implementation of the Ping Identity Web site gives non-technical personnel the tools they need to control and maintain the site on a day-to-day basis, according to John Canestraro, VP of Raincastle Communications , which deployed the site for Ping Identity. The solution also will allow the company to enlarge and expand the Web site and its capabilities, he says.

CommonSpot provides greater productivity by allowing organizations to focus on their business rather than on developing and supporting content management initiatives, according to a recent news release from PaperThin.
