Egnyte Expands Beyond Silicon Valley, Opens New Office in Raleigh, NC

Egnyte, a cloud provider of smart content collaboration and governance, has announced expansion plans that include a new office in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a new hiring initiative across offices in Spokane, Washington; Poznan, Poland; and Berkshire, England.

Founded in 2007, Egnyte is privately held and headquartered in Mountain View, CA, with investors including venture capital firms, such as Google Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, as well as technology partners, such as CenturyLink and Seagate Technology.

Egnyte’s Content Intelligence platform delivers smart content collaboration and governance in the cloud or on-premises to thousands of businesses around the world.

Currently employing 350 people throughout North America and Europe, Egnyte is making make a push to have 500 employees globally in the next 18-24 months by seeking top talent outside of Silicon Valley.

According to Egnyte, its office in Poznan, Poland, has grown more than 250% since 2015. Egnyte has also seen its office in Spokane, Washington expand more than 500% since 2014.  In order to build a successful scalable startup, it is necessary to think outside of Silicon Valley, said Egnyte CFO Steve Sutter.

Upon opening the Raleigh location, Egnyte will be hiring sales professionals at the North Carolina site. In Spokane, Washington and Berkshire, England the company will look to add customer success, sales, and marketing talent. In Poznan, Poland it will be adding to their engineering and developer operations teams.
