White Pine Software changes name to CUseeMe Networks

The new name was chosen to align the company's branding with its vision and focus for the future. In February, the company sold its connectivity business and solidified its focus 100% on Internet communications solutions. The company has identified three areas for its organization: CUseeMe Software, encompassing its software products; CUseeMe Services, a new hosting business and the industry's first voice and visual ASP; and CUseeMe World, a consumer portal and showcase site for the company.

Last week, CUSeeMe and Siemens France announced Click'n Tchatch, an IP call center intended for e-commerce companies on the Web or the mobile. The service lets a customer place a voice call over the network to a specified call center and makes it easy to request information live through Web and wireless application protocol interfaces.

In addition to the "click to call" function, Click'n Tchatch also synchronizes the Web pages seen by the teleconsultant and the customer for as long as it takes to process the request or provide the customer service. It also handles the routing and distribution of incoming IP-based calls into an existing call center environment.

Click'n Tchatch combines CUseeMe Networks’ client-server Web-based multimedia conferencing technology (MeetingPoint and CUseeMe Web) and Siemens' expertise in telecommunications and call centers. The product is marketed by Siemens.
