Visioneer reports increased revenues, reduced losses

Visioneer (Fremont, CA, Nasdaq: VSNR) reports Q3 '97 financial results. Revenue of $17.5 million represents a 45% increase from Q3 ‘96, and a 68% increase from Q2 '97. A net loss of $676,000 compares with a Q3 '96 net loss of $7 million, and a Q2 '97 net loss of $5.7 million. These results "go a long way" to achieving sustained growth and profitability, said CEO J. Larry Smart. Contributing to the increase in revenue were shipments of the PaperPort Strobe sheet-fed scanner, and sales of PaperPort 3000 and 6000 flatbed scanners and PaperPort Deluxe software. Visioneer shipped 86,000 total hardware units during the quarter.
