Virtual DB assists Pittsburgh VA

VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Systems has purchased the Virtual DB system from Enterworks. VA Pittsburgh, part of the VA Stars & Stripes Healthcare Network, will use Virtual DB's Information Portal Reporting system as an access point for various hospital information. It will also use Virtual DB to generate in-depth clinical and administrative reports created from new and legacy systems. All are integrated into single, consistent views.

"Enterworks' Virtual DB provided us with the ability to access vital data not available in standard hospital reports, even through custom programming and code reuse," said Angelo Baiocchi, director of information systems at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. "The VIPRS package, powered by Virtual DB, now allows us to quickly and easily perform a number of queries on patient data.
