USMC orders backfile conversion for technical documents

The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) is electronically converting its technical manuals with the help of Docucon.

The USMC is updating and electronically converting its backfile of technical documents in accordance with the new USMC Digitalization Program, which contains new procedures for the conversion of active technical manuals into SGML format.

USMC technical manuals will be scanned, indexed and flagged at Docucon's San Antonio offices, with the goal of ultimately loading that information into a Joint Technical Manual data environment. The contract is valued at just under $600,000.
