USI introduces work management software

Universal Systems (USI) has released a new suite of work management applications and methodologies designed to improve organizations' use and accessibility to documents and information. Trackworks includes a component architecture, a trio of application templates to rapidly deploy business applications, Web-based work management, and an assessment grid for developing subject matter expertise and deployment methodology for conducting electronic business. The applications WorkManager, a workflow management tool; Express, a rapid application development solution; and Excelerator, a correspondence and action item management tool leverage the Internet, allowing quantum improvements in inter-, intra- and extra-company business performance. "In today's distributed computing environment, information is stored in amyriad of ways from E-mail, paper documents, inventory systems and customer orders," said Mark Scheffel, USI VP of product strategy and development. Trackworks allows users to access these sources, he said, giving them "a window into the necessary information they need to do their jobs more quickly and more effectively." Current Trackworks customers include the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). Client pricing for Trackworks, which includes the WorkManager, Express and Excelerator applications, PC Docs' DOCS Open and ForeMost from Provenance, costs $1,500 per 500-seat license. Server pricing, including WorkManager, DOCS Open and ForeMost, costs $20,000 per server. Additional components will be added to the portfolio later this year.
