U.S. Bancorp Banks on Lotus

U.S. Bancorp, the nation's 15th largest bank with $71 million in assets, has selected Lotus (Cambridge, MA) to provide messaging and collaboration software for its intranet. U.S. Bancorp has purchased Lotus Domino and Notes to provide collaborative computing and messaging for its nearly 25,000 employees in 17 states. Lotus will also help plan, manage and implement the system infrastructure. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. U.S. Bancorp chose Lotus after an extensive evaluation of other systems, according to Terry Sandvik, president of the bank's Business Technology Center. "The Lotus Domino server and Lotus Notes client clearly stood out as the most sophisticated and proven intranet messaging and collaborative computing tools."
