TextWare and Symbus announce merger

Textware (Park City, UT, http://www.textware.com) has announced a merger with Symbus (Waltham, MA, http://www.symbus.com). The new company, FormWare, is now the largest forms processing software vendor. TextWare president Reynolds Bish will serve as president of the new company, which will have an installed base of approximately 25,000 users, processing more than 25 million forms daily. Bish notes that FormWare's market share will be "around 15%--larger than any other software-based forms processing supplier," with an annual run rate of $8 million plus per year. Bish notes, however, that "we are talking small numbers at present. The real opportunity is to capitalize on our dominance as the market matures and accelerates."

The new company will highlight the combined strength at a prominent booth at Knowledge Management Expo DIIME/97 (http://www.diime.com) in Chicago (October 15 - 17).
