Software meets service for business rules

Corticon Technologies and Trinity Millennium Group have announced a partnership focusing on integrating the Corticon Business Rules Management System with Trinity’s tools and services. The companies say the result of the relationship is a complete solution to drive the successful and cost-effective identification and migration of business logic from legacy applications to a set of executable Corticon business rules models as a component of a modern service-oriented architecture.

Trinity Millennium says it has developed the automated Trinity Modernization Process (TMP), which can process more than 100 languages and database schemas simultaneously, capturing and understanding all of the artifacts within an enterprise application, including an organization's business logic (i.e. business rules). The business rules uncovered by the Trinity Millennium Group process are then transformed into fully executable Corticon rules models. Corticon highlights its ability to represent business rules as models that are understandable by both business users and IT programmers, thereby making the transformed business logic easy to understand and adapt. Further, says Corticon, its models are also fully executable and exposed as Web services, making them easy to call directly from, and reuse across, applications.
