Softnet shuffles executive management

After holding the post for less than nine months, Softnet Systems (Mountain View, CA) president and CEO A.J.R. Oosthuizen has left the company "for personal reasons." He will continue to assist management on a consulting basis. Board member Dr. Lawrence Brilliant will serve as CEO on an interim basis. In other executive management news, Garrett Girvan has been tabbed to serve double duty as Softnet's COO and CFO. He previously served in both capacities for Viacom Cable. Ian Aaron, former president of Mediaworld City, is the company's new CTO. Softnet has also revealed that it is reviewing offers to sell its telecommunications business unit as part of its strategic refocus and reorganization.
