Sequoia to Unleash XML Server for Healthcare

Sequoia Software (Columbia, MD) will introduce an XML-based transaction server at the upcoming HIMSS

conference in Orlando. The system will allow healthcare organizations to manage, index and transport patient record data to and from various client applications ranging from radiology equipment to billing systems. The software is now being embedded by OEMs and is currently ready for commercial use. The server "is not just an XML application," said Sequoia CTO Anil Sethi; it "works behind virtually all applications so that very different, widely distributed systems can actually work together to do business." "This is an important development that will allow people in different healthcare roles doctors, pharmacists, vendors, buyers, and administrators to communicate," said John Carpenter, Microsoft's (Redmond, WA) WorldWide Health Industry Manager.
