Semio acquires Kalepa

Semio has acquired Kalepa, developer of P2P technology and a one-time, self-described "provider of Internet content delivery infrastructure." Semio says the move will enhance its position in the evolving content categorization and information discovery markets through new technology that will enable a rapid shift of focus from centrally managed solutions to distributed departmental solutions, including those located at the edge of the enterprise.

Semio has also formed a technology alliance with Antartic.ca Systems, a developer of visual mapping software. The companies report they will offer enterprises a unique graphical user interface for their categorized data, providing users with an expanded, visual framework for finding and sharing data.

Semio and Antarcti.ca will cooperatively sell and market their respective products, SemioTagger and Visual Net, to organizations seeking solutions for the management and visualization of unstructured data. The companies says using the combined products results in improved search relevancy and more intuitive navigation of data sets
