SAS Institute and AMS team for customer relationship management

A new deal between American Management Systems (AMS) and SAS Institute means that the customer is king. AMS will combine its knowledge of large-scale business and technology change initiatives aka consulting with SAS' data mining, data warehousing, and decision support software. The agreement will initially focus on the integration of SAS Institute's newly-released Enterprise Miner data mining software with AMS's Strata enterprise software. The integrated product will create a seamless environment in which companies can build, deploy, test, and track the outcome of customer relationship management strategies. Terms of the deal also call for SAS' family of products to be demonstrated at AMS' Center for Advanced Technologies (AMSCAT), located at the company's Fairfax, VA headquarters. SAS will also provide AMS consultants with technical and implementation training on SAS software.

"For project teams working with client data and delivering actual solutions, the alliance ensures that clients get additional value for their investments," said Wingate Swain, SAS Institute's director of market development. "We look forward to strengthening this alliance with AMS on many fronts." "SAS software provides the platform that we need in order to design and quickly implement the technology-based customer management systems demanded by our clients," added Steve Mutschler, VP of AMS's Customer Strategy Consulting practice. "Both firms have strong credentials helping companies re-orient their businesses to emphasize customer relationship management."
