SAS Institute Releases Beta Version of its Enterprise Miner Software

SAS Institute (Cary, NC) has released the beta version of its Enterprise Miner software. Enterprise Miner combines data warehousing technology with analytical capabilities and a visual data mining GUI, allowing users to automate the processes of sampling, exploring, modifying, modeling and assessing data. The beta release has been issued to 36 companies in North America in the banking, insurance, telecommunications, retail and automotive industries. "You simply cannot do effective data mining without a smart data warehousing strategy," said Kristin Rahn, SAS Institute's Solution Manager for Data Mining. Enterprise Miner "bridges the business decision makers and the quantitative experts" within an organization, she said. Enterprise Miner will be officially released by late Q1 '98.
