Rational Software Reports Increased Revenues, Profit
Rational Software (Cupertino, CA) Announces Q3 '97 financial results. Revenue of $82.3 million represents a 10% increase from Q2 '97 and a 155% increase from Q3 '96. A net income of $10.4 million compares with a Q2 '97 net loss of $64.6 million and a Q3 '96 net loss of $13.2 million. Net product revenue dipped slightly from $49.5 million in Q3 '96 to $48.4 million. Consulting and support revenue comprised 41% of overall revenue for the quarter. All charges relating to the acquisition of Pure Atria, including $17.7 million for acquired in-process R&D, were reflected in the previous quarter.
