Quarterdeck Signs Deal With Verity

Quarterdeck (Marina del Rey, CA) has signed another agreement with a vendor in the knowledge management space, joining with Verity

(Sunnyvale, CA) to provide a search engine for its REALHELP line of PC problem-solving software. The deal calls for Verity to license its search engine for use in the Find-A-Fix feature in Quarterdeck's REALHELP software. The combined system will use REALHELP's metasearching and Verity's searching and indexing techniques to comb local databases and the Internet for solutions to PC problems. The partnership fits right in with Verity's KM strategy, according to VP Ronald Weissman. "Customer service/help applications are at the forefront of sophisticated knowledge solutions," he said; through the arrangement, "hundreds of thousands of users" will be able to "improve the health, performance and quality of their desktop computing environment."
