Procom provides network access to DVD-ROMS and CD-ROMS

Giving networked users access to both CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs, Procom (Irvine, CA,

http://www.procom.com) is shipping the DVD/CD Force 14-Server ($15,955).

The server features an average seek time of 200 ms for its DVD-ROM drives and an access time of 120 ms for the CD-ROM drives.

"The DVD/CD Force 14 Server incorporates both DVD technology and Procom's own managed storage enterprise architecture (MESA)," said Alex Razmjoo, Procom president. "The result is a cross-platform DVD/CD networking solution that will serve the emerging DVD market."

The 14-drive unit is the first in a series of configurations Procom is expected to release.
