Portal development gets on the wagon

Wells Fargo is bringing in Glyphica's PortalWare to get more out of its intranet.

PortalWare, a product designed to help organizations build and sustain corporate portals to deliver targeted information, will be used to address the rapid intranet growth, in terms of usage and content, that Wells Fargo has experienced. Using PortalWare, Wells Fargo business managers will be able to easily share documents with coworkers, reduce workloads, manage customer accounts and access an arsenal of sales training, promotional and competitive tools.

Wells Fargo expects to gain by collapsing sales cycles and increasing productivity of its sales force, relationship managers and customer service representatives.

Said Jim Maxedon, VP of the Wells Fargo Wholesale Marketing Group: "PortalWare addresses many of our key initiatives for 1999-increased usage, distributed publishing, improved intranet navigation, better management of content, reduced workloads and secured content-with one solution."

By making the group's tasks easier, PortalWare "helps us achieve our larger objectives of providing faster and better quality information and resources across all our business units," he added
