Plexus Reveals JBO Plans

Plexus (Sunnyvale, CA) has announced what the next version of its Java Business Objects (JBO) workflow and imaging software will look like. JBO Version 3.0, due by early spring, will incorporate four major elements: CORBA and IIOP support; components for notes and annotations, E-mail, image viewing, supervisory activities and work item manipulation; an extended scope which will incorporate Plexus' complete imaging suite; and "Pilot Beans" made available on request as an early production-tested release. A future version, JBO 4.0, will be released in the latter half of 1998, which will include Plexus' Courier Agent workflow technology. The outline for 1998 reflects Plexus' collective organizational knowledge gained through its experience deploying Internet-enabled applications, according to Rich Hemmerling, Plexus' Vice President of Engineering.
