Patent & License Exchange and law.com partner

The Patent & License Exchange (pl-x) and law.com have formed a marketing and distribution alliance to offer pl-x’s market-driven intellectual property (IP) valuation system and the pl-x Intangible Asset Market Indices (IAMI) to law.com’s legal and business communities. The partnership will also allow pl-x’s community to stay abreast of the latest developments in intellectual property and technology related law by providing them access to law.com’s IP and Technology Practice Centers.

Technology Risk/Reward Unit (TRRU) Metrics, pl-x's intellectual property valuation system, provides an objective, market-driven valuation for patents. Based on the Nobel Prize winning Black-Scholes Options Pricing Model and the premise that patents are actually call options on technology, TRRU Metrics uses specific information about a patent along with live market data from more than 1,500 publicly traded micro-cap companies that are developing specific niche technologies to generate a reasonable market-driven valuation for that patent.

Law.com will offer access to pl-x's set of tools through a link on both the IP and Technology Law Practice Center sections of the law.com Web site." In addition to TRRU, these tools include pl-x's Intangible Asset Market Indices, which tracks changes in the value of the "knowledge economy."

In turn, pl-x will provide its users with subscriptions to each of law.com’s IP and Technology Practice Centers.
