Parametric to Integrate with FileNet's Panagon

An integration agreement between FileNet (Costa Mesa, CA) and Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC, Waltham, MA) will allow document sharing across an enterprise during the manufacturing process. FileNet will use PTC's Pro/Intralink toolkit to integrate its Panagon IDM document management suite with PTC's Pro/Engineer CAD/CAM/CAE software. FileNet has also joined PTC's Cooperative Software Partners (CSP) program. The integration will enable PTC users to easily manage and view documents, including images, CAD files, text, video and fax. "Companies need to leverage information assets to improve engineering processes and optimize product quality," said Alan Heinlein, software partner manager at PTC. This deal will help organizations ensure accurate product information across the enterprise, he added. Integrating Panagon with PTC's mechanical design solutions "helps engineering organizations reduce overall costs and increase their competitive advantage by bringing products to market more quickly," said Lewis Carpenter, FileNet's senior VP of worldwide marketing.
