Open source big data search and analytics from Lucid Imagination

Lucid Imagination has announced LucidWorks Big Data, which is currently in beta. Based on Apache Lucene and Apache Solr, the platform is designed to provide search, machine learning, recommendation engines and analytics for structured and unstructured content in a single solution available in the cloud. The company says the LucidWorks Big Data platform:

combines the real-time, ad hoc data accessibility of Lucene/Solr with the computational and storage capabilities of Hadoop;

provides commonly used analytic capabilities along with Mahout’s proven, scalable machine learning algorithms;

supplies a single, secure and well-documented REST API for both application integration and administration;

offers built-in fault tolerance with data;

delivers on-premise, cloud hosted or hybrid deployment options; and

includes tools for configuration, deployment, content acquisition, security and search experience.
