Open Text, Cardiff team up to strengthen paper connection

In a move to help its Livelink users manage and publish their paper based information, Open Text has partnered with information capture vendor Cardiff Software. Open Text will resell custom versions of Cardiff's TeleForm and PDF+Forms products.

"We've chosen to resell Cardiff's complementary solutions because they will enable our Livelink customers to more efficiently manage and publish their paper forms online," said Dan Latendre, VP of product marketing at Open Text. "The integration of the Cardiff document capture and eForms products into Livelink's knowledge and process management functionality will allow users to manage and track form-based information, currently distributed in paper format, much more effectively using the Web. With these solutions, the Livelink platform provides the framework for truly paperless business processes."

The custom version of Teleform is designed to let users "onramp" documents into Livelink for archival and retrieval. PDF+Forms, which results from a co-development agreement between Cardiff and Adobe, is designed to allow users to publish paper forms online--complete with e-mail and Web-based submission.

Teleform for Livelink, available at the beginning of November, will cost $12,000. PDF+Forms for Livelink, available in December, will cost $25,000 per unlimited user server
