One portal at a time

With its new Communique Portal, Day says it gives organizations real-time, secure read/write access to any digital content, structured or unstructured. The company adds that Communique encourages the creation of multiple portal views to the extended enterprise community and delivers that content to any platform--PDA, wireless or the Web--directly from its native “data container.”

With a one-time only connection to the data source, Communique’s virtual repository, the ContentBus, is said to unify content and provide security, versioning, access control, indexing, etc., to all content for use throughout Web initiatives. Communique further enables ERP, CRM databases and Lotus Notes to be accessed through the portal.

Other Communique features include personalization, collaboration, workflow, search across multiple data sources, document management, application integration and the ability to import dissimilar Web sites or micro-intranets into a single, unified enterprisewide view.
