On the Web in a jiffy

FatWire has released UE Doc Manager, part of its Update Engine content management suite.

The new offering allows users to create, edit and dynamically deliver unstructured content, such as word processing documents, PDFs and HTML files, to Web sites, intranets and portals. Further, with UE Doc Manager, business users can create and migrate content from Microsoft Office applications, save it from the File menu and publish it directly to their Web site or Web application.

UE Doc Manager features an intuitive interface to offer more efficient management of documents and other unstructured content through the Web. FatWire reports UE Doc Manager includes:

  • the document explorer, a familiar folder and file interface for file management and navigation;

  • the document migrator, which allows authorized business users to bring unstructured content such as Microsoft Office documents, PDF and HTML files into the UpdateEngine ECM Suite;

  • The document search tool, which features combined search technologies from Autonomy and FatWire to power a full range of searches, from keyword search to taxonomy navigation, and offers standard libraries for parsing and standardizing the document, and metadata associated with the document; and

  • WebDAV integration to search, explore and edit managed documents utilizing the WebDAV protocol.
