NovaSoft partners with PTC

NovaSoft (Burlington, MA) has partnered with Parametric Technology

(PTC, Waltham, MA) to combine workflow and document management solutions with CAD/CAM/CAE software. Having joined PTC's Cooperative Software Partner (CSP) program, NovaSoft will integrate its NovaManage workflow and document management system with PTC's Pro/Engineer CAD/CAM/CAE solution. NovaManage will extract Bill of Material information from Engineering Change Order forms, route the data through a workflow change process, and post updates to Pro/Engineer. "Individually, our Pro/Engineer and NovaManage implementations will enable us to improve product development by accelerating time-to-market," said Frank Bogdan, manager of Ciena Corporation's (Savage, MD) Engineering Data Systems unit. The proposed integration will "increase their value by expanding acess to corporate information and data throughout the enterprise."
