Netscape Intranet Server Software Hits the SuiteSpot

A new version of its SuiteSpot server software has been released by Netscape (Mountain View, CA). SuiteSpot Version 3.5 allows companies to share, manage, process and find information on corporate intranets and extranets. New features include enhanced scalability through support for SSL hardware accelerators, and improved support for Java Database Connector (JDBC) and Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.1 and servlets. Also included is new software for messaging and collaboration, and a Directory Server for centralized administration. SuiteSpot 3.5 includes support for the LDAP version 3 Internet standard and comes bundled with Netscape Communicator client software. "This new product saves us time by giving users direct access to contact information," said Rick Waugh, a systems analyst with BC TEL. Pricing for the Standard Version of Netscape SuiteSpot 3.5 is $82 per user. A Professional Edition, which adds Netscape's Compass Server, Proxy Server, Certificate Server and Mission Control Desktop, is available for $140 per user.
