Maximizing intellectual property at Primix

As more and more companies get on track with portal development, speed of implementation becomes a valuable marketing tool. Enter Primix Solutions, which introduces its KnowledgeCore portal geared to allow companies to quickly maximize their intellectual property. Primix says KnowledgeCore delivers a working, customized portal-based solution in under 100 days. KnowledgeCore, says Primix, makes it easier for companies to quickly realize productivity improvements and gain market share, and comprises the first in a series of KM services from Primix.

KnowledgeCore offers customers a fully functional, individualized Web portal site built around proven business practices and technologies. It is a complete knowledge management package that is designed, developed and delivered in a modular fashion to facilitate rapid integration with customers' existing business systems and processes.

KnowledgeCore includes services and technologies from a number of leading KM vendors, including: Dataware, which provides the natural language search engine and concept mining tools; Semio, which provides knowledge mapping and migration tools; and Interleaf, which provides XML authoring, storage and layout. Other collaborators include Hummingbird, Sun Microsystemsand Sequoia to deliver the portal, dynamic content delivery and personalization.

"In today's knowledge-intensive workplace, working smarter is more important than ever before," says Dirk Mahling, Ph.D., national practice manager of knowledge management at Primix. "By helping clients build on their own core competencies, Primix' KM solution identifies and implements proven technological and business approaches to realize improvements in both customer and employee satisfaction, not to mention the bottom line. It taps into the 95% of business knowledge that exists only in employees heads and not on paper or in any clearly-defined process."

KnowledgeCore includes:

• content management tools;

• virtual community tools and team support;

• a best-practice exchange to facilitate knowledge transfer;

• e-self-service functionality for easier management of portal user data;
