Lucent Calls On FileNet for Document Imaging

Lucent Technologies (Murray Hill, NJ) has selected FileNet

(Costa Mesa, CA) to deploy document management solutions across its global enterprise. FileNet will install its Panagon document capture, fax, print and server software components for a variety of applications, including SAP R/3 Financial Module and various tax, order, processing and HR applications. The system will consolidate millions of documents from several applications into a single repository. FileNet will also provide software and customized education, training and support services for the system, which will be deployed through the rest of this year. "The dependability of IDM products that enable us to make documents accessible to any employee is critical," said Gerry Marengo, district manager with Lucent's Enterprise Architecture Group. Lucent needs immediate access to key accounting data, he said, and plans to add access to other documents like contracts and tax certificates through the Web, helping its employees be more productive.
