Lotus acquisition adds workflow, Web app capabilities to Notes and Domino

To boost the workflow capabilities of its Notes environment, Lotus Development has acquired workflow vendor ONEStone Holding. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

ONEStone has Fortune 100 customers in financial services, manufacturing, telecom, government and healthcare, and offices in the US and Europe. ONEStone's primary product, Prozessware, lets users create, manage and visually display workflow processes.

Deeper workflow integration in Notes will make it easier to "reach the right people with the right information," reducing the time it takes to accomplish tasks, said Frank Iveson, CEO of PAVONE (aka NotesWare), a Lotus Business Partner in Europe.

Brian Bell, senior VP of Lotus' Knowledge Management Division, said the addition of Prozessware will boost Lotus Domino's Web server capabilities, and is "an important step towards richer knowledge management capabilities" for both Lotus Notes and Domino
