Lava chosen by Australian government body

Managing documents and online electronic records can be as intimidating as the Great Barrier Reef, as the South Gippsland Shire Council (Victoria, Australia), a district council with $22 million in annual revenues and a full time staff of 180 people, found out. To help the municipal government body manage its document control and online records systems, they have chosen

Lava Systems' (Toronto) document management and workflow system. The Council will use Lava to scan, register and distribute all incoming correspondence as well as the documents supporting core business processes and procedures. After evaluating ten products, Glenn Patterson, the council's corporate GM, decided that Lava was the best choice to manage the council's document control and online electronic records systems. "It was easy to use and integrated very well with our current system without the need for additional hardware or software," he said. Plans call for future integration with the council's GIS systems, contracts management and human resources packages.
