Lava Names New Executives

Lava Systems (Toronto) has named Robert Terry as senior VP and COO of worldwide operations, and Stephen Wilson as VP and CFO. Terry had served as senior VP and Managing Director at Lava since August 1997, when the company acquired SCS Consulting. Prior to then, SCS was Lava's biggest business partner. Wilson was formerly VP of Finance at The Learning Company (Cambridge, MA). Outgoing CFO Brian MacDonald will concentrate on mergers, acquisitions and other growth-oriented activities. Terry brings knowledge and experience in selling to the financial market, which Lava sees as its next challenge, according to president and CEO Peter Hamilton. While the company has seen strong success in manufacturing, he said, "we need to raise our profile amongst financial services companies in the North American market in particular. Expansion into the financial services market is critical for Lava's success."
