PeopleSoft and Lotus have inked a deal that calls for the integration of the Lotus Discovery Server, as well as Quickplace and Sametime, with PeopleSoft's Enterprise Service Automation (ESA).

PeopleSoft explains that ESA is designed for service-based organizations including field services, internal services, internal information technology services, professional services and staffing. The company says the ESA offering delivers collaborative processes that customers, suppliers and employees can use to control costs, increase revenue and maximize business opportunities.

PeopleSoft believes the addition of the Lotus products into ESA will allow customers to capture, store and recycle the information previously lost through employee turnovers, which is estimated at 20% in service-based organizations
