It’s not just in your mind

Recommind has released MindServer 2.1, its unstructured data management (UDM) solution for information retrieval and categorization.

The company reports MindServer 2.1 features text extraction, an automated approach to identifying and highlighting or extracting entities such as personal names, organizations, places, dates and phone numbers. Recommind says text extraction is particularly useful in identifying and analyzing information buried within text, and can also be used to enhance the accuracy of search results. Recommind customers are currently using MindServer 2.1 to automatically identify people, places and organizations mentioned within text and to analyze relationships between individuals and organizations.

Additional enhancements, says the company, include categorization tools that enable automated or interactive classification and taxonomy management, as well a GUI-based set of administrator tools that facilitate set up and tuning for optimal performance.
