Image capture vendor sees future in consulting

Imaging, workflow and document management services will grow to $14 billion by 2002 - a compound annual growth rate of 26 percent - according to a recent report by the Gartner Group.

In hopes of participating in the fastest growing segment of this market, Kofax Image Products has kicked off a consulting service. The Kofax Professional Services Group delivers needs analysis, implementation, performance tuning, customization, custom documentation and training for resellers of its Ascent line of production document and data capture applications.

"Most of our resellers are document management and workflow experts. They are able to find, bid and win more deals requiring production-level data and document capture software than they have resources to implement," said Kofax President David Silver. "Kofax Professional Services will help our resellers close more business while improving service to their clients by utilizing our specialized capture expertise."

"We've seen the average size and complexity of our installations grow and that has created a frequent need for consulting services to optimize these applications," said Kofax Director of Technical Services Don Field. "Efficiency is another issue - in new as well as existing applications. A thorough productivity audit and implementation can increase document throughput and recognition accuracy, which are critical for companies capturing thousands of documents per day."
