With out-of-the-box capabilities, Vignette V6 Content suite is said to a fully integrated content management offering and the first to allow organizations to interact online with their customers, employees and partners.

The company has also launched Content Extensions, a set of modular applications that offer additional functionality, such as support for mobile devices, collaborative commerce, interaction management and content staging and deployment.

Vignette claims Content Suite V6 gives organizations the core functionality they need to manage, personalize, integrate and analyze content in a single, quickly deployable solution, including

  • creating, managing and deploying large amounts of personalized content;

  • integrating content from internal and external sources while minimizing the complexity of integrating business systems and Internet applications; and

  • optimizing online effectiveness and allowing insight into individual needs to alter the online experience of customers, employees and partners in real time.

Vignette V6 offers support for all major industry-standard platforms, including both the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and Microsoft.NET standards, with product-specific support for IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, Microsoft Internet Information Server and Tomcat application servers. Vignette V6 provides support for the IBM AIX, Sun Solaris and Windows 2000 operating systems and IBM DB2, Oracle 8i, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server database platforms. It also provides predefined, certified integrations with front- and back-office business applications, including SAP, Siebel and PeopleSoft.
