Getting better all the time

EMC Documentum has significantly upgraded its collaboration capability with the release of eRoom 7.3.

The company cites the following enhancements:

New dashboard capabilities--improve project status visibility, enabling users to gain greater oversight into multiple projects, events and tasks.

Instant messaging integration--enables heightened project awareness and integrated real-time communication through instant messaging for facilitating quicker decision-making.

Enhanced content server integration--delivers improved team efficiencies. Content created or changed in the EMC Documentum Content Server can be automatically synchronized in a new Linked Folder that notifies project teams of new content. Version 7.3 also provides users access to the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Integration (ECI) Services so that search queries can be formulated across all relevant information sources.

New security features--provide selective access to data table records, offering customers more flexibility in configuring external access to data within extranet scenarios such as supplier management or client engagement.

EMC Documentum eRoom collaborative suite is also supported by EMC’s new value-added software support services, including: "Designated Support Engineer," providing a single, product-specific support engineer and priority case handling; "Onsite Support Engineer," augmenting the customer's IT staff with a dedicated, onsite, product-specific resource; and "Priority Onsite Support," delivering onsite technical support at the customer's discretion.
