GRAL buys Allegria

Privately held GRAL (Darmstadt, Germany) has acquired Allegria (Laguna Hills, CA, http://www.allegria.com), the developer of enterprise-wide view and mark-up products including the ForReview line of software. According to Robert Bruns, CEO of GRAL, the acquisition extends GRAL's plot management and graphics conversion line with an established view and markup tool while giving the German firm entrance to the U.S. market through Allegria's distribution channel.

As a result of the acquisition, GRAL also extends its line of plot management software.

Allegria will benefit from GRAL's strong distribution and support structure. The combined development resources will enable much more rapid development of new products to serve the needs of corporate enterprise-wide documentation management systems tailored towards the EDM/PDM market
