From Web passive to aggressive

iManage has launched its WorkSite product suite, which, it says, “allows enterprises to elevate their passive Web sites into interactive work sites,” common areas where employees, customers, partners and suppliers can conduct their work.

The company says by turning a Web site into an iManage WorkSite, an enterprise can provide a central place where everyone in the value chain can exchange information, share knowledge and make timely and accurate business decisions.

The WorkSite suite incorporates technologies such as content management, portal, collaboration and business process mapping on a scalable platform. Based on open standards including Java, J2EE, LDAP, COM, .Net, XML/XSL and HTTP/SSL, it supports a variety of platforms including Microsoft Windows NT, Microsoft Windows 2000, Solaris and Linux.

iManage reports this technology allows organizations and developers to use NT or Java-based programming environments to customize and create new WorkSite applications or use WorkSite out-of-the-box applications to meet their needs.
