Finding your way in WebSphere

80-20 Software has released its portal application for the IBM WebSphere Portal. 80-20 says its Retriever categorization technology is designed to help workers immediately find any file on their system, significantly reducing time wasted searching for documents. It further claims Retriever will allow WebSphere users to increase productivity by up to two hours a day.

The WebSphere integration of Retriever is 80-20’s first move away from its exclusive relations to Microsoft in favor of an IBM alliance. 80-20 has joined IBM's Independent Software Vendor program and is expected to gradually develop IBM versions of all its major products.

Since it was founded almost five years ago, 80-20 products have been developed only for Microsoft platforms. The software developer obtained early access to Microsoft technology, and Microsoft helped introduce its customers to 80-20 products. 80-20 Software intends to maintain this alliance and support its Microsoft aligned products while strengthening its ties with IBM.
