Empowering profit potential

With its integrated Enterprise Profit Optimization (EPO) suite, Manugistics has developed a software solution that it claims helps drive organizations to profitable growth through the simultaneous optimization of its supply-side and demand-side functions.

Combining the features of supply chain management and pricing and revenue optimization, Manugistics’ EPO offering consists of two modules: Profitable Order Management (POM) and and (PPM) Profitable Promotions Management.

Manugistics reports POM is designed to help a company more profitably manage and fulfill the customer order--from initial customer inquiry through delivery. Further, says the company, POM can enable a seller to provide improved customer service while simultaneously improving the probability of repeat business. Finally, the seller can better ensure that the goods the customer demands are available, can be delivered at the time requested and at a price that satisfies the customer and enhances margins for the enterprise, says Manugistics.

POM maintains an optimized production plan and price list for a company's products, Manugistics adds. The software can respond to inquiries in near real-time with availability, optimized price and time and location of delivery.

Profitable Order Management is targeted at discrete and processmanufacturers in the automotive, chemical, consumer products, communications and high technology sectors, as well as those in the industrial and consumer durables areas.

Manugistics explains the the PPM module was developed to help enterprises create promotional campaigns that enhance profitability consistent with corporate objectives, such as sales volume and market share, while ensuring that product supply matches promotion-influenced demand.
