Deltek Purchases SFA Software Provider

Deltek Systems (McLean, VA) has acquired SalesKit, a St. Louis-based provider of sales force automation and customer management software. The deal, expected to close in about 60 days, calls for Deltek to purchase SalesKit assets for $6 million in cash, and stock warrants to purchase 130,000 shares of Deltek common stock at $22 per share. The costs will be written off in Q2 '98. The deal bolsters Deltek's existing customer information management products, allowing Deltek customers to "track their sales opportunities and manage their customers and projects," according to Deltek president Ken deLaski. SalesKit president Tony Mitchell is "impressed" with Deltek's vision and direction in the project-oriented marketplace.
